Five years is not a short period of time. In fact, no matter how fast time seems to fly, the sheer number of months, weeks, days and hours are by no means negligible. Some things are hard to let go of, some harder than others. But distance is not an indicator of whether your friendship is doomed to fail. Even being in the same country can cause people to drift, to wonder 'do i even know you anymore?' Five years is by no means short. Sure, its a speck in our entire lives. But its one thing to look back on it and another to be caught up right in the middle. As it is, close friends are dwindling. Five years can change plenty. I just hope at the end of it i am able to accept, adapt and move on.
